Our History

Big Hit Media was founded in 2003 by Scot Villeneuve.  In the years leading up to the formation of the company, Scot held marketing positions at Cabletron Systems, AT&T, Comcast and The Tracey Edwards Advertising Company.  In 2002, although comfortable in an executive position and enjoying a young family, he answered the "entrepreneurial call" and started a video production and web design business.

The company started in a one-room leased space in the Cocheco Mill in Dover, New Hampshire and quickly grew; thanks to amazing clients like ESPN, Honda Generators, Random House, Bank Newport (Rhode Island).  It wasn't long before the company outgrew the mill space and needed a new base of operations.  The 5-person Big Hit team moved to Rollinsford, NH, to a larger space, overlooking the Salmon Falls River.  Continued growth led to contracts with Warner Books, Penguin, Goss International and several NYT bestselling authors.  It was at this time that the firm added several new services including in-studio video production and photography, print design, trade show booth development and deeper consulting roles with clients on long-term business strategy.

In 2009, staff growth and the need for additional studio space led us to our current location — the 'Old Firehouse' in Barrington, NH, just down the street from Calef's famous country store (you've gotta try their "snappy" cheddar cheese!)  It wasn't much to look at when we first scouted the location (see photo) but when we started to use our imaginations and picture how we could tailor the space, we knew we were home.  Since the move to Barrington, Big Hit Media has partnered with top companies to meet their changing marketing and advertising needs.  Close affiliations with Adobe Systems, Turbocam International, Granite State Glass, Renaissance Firearms, TimberNook, among others, has allowed Big Hit Media to sustainably grow year-after-year.

In addition to work ethic, creativity and the quality of our work, Big Hit Media is successful because we love the challenges we face daily.  Our staff is passionate about advertising and we are gratified when our efforts help lead to client successes.
